Alright alright alright! My family has been painstakingly testing this recipe for you for weeks. Oh, the sacrifices we make for our beloved Scoop fam! haha! You know my kids totally loved every bit of it ;) We finally have the recipe dialed in, just in time for the snow!
I bring you a totally delicious, plant-based cocoa mix recipe that can be made entirely from ingredients purchased in bulk at Scoop Marketplace! Woohoo!!
This recipe makes enough for four servings:
1/2 cup (120 grams) granulated sugar
1/3 cup (30 grams) cocoa powder
1/4 cup (30 grams) coconut milk powder
1/2 Tblsp (5 grams) vanilla powder
1/2 tsp (4 graps) sea salt
Pour this into a blender and blend on high until thoroughly mixed. If you aren't using it right now (but why wouldn't you??), store it in a jar to enjoy later.
Boil water. For each serving, you will need 1/3 cup (about 47 grams) of the cocoa mix and 8 fluid ounces of hot water.
Method 1: pour the mix into your mug. Add a tablespoon or two of water and mix until it makes a paste. Slowly pour in the rest of the water, stirring continuously, until it is fully incorporated.
Method 2: if you just used your blender to make this mix, don't bother to rinse it out just yet. Add the mix and water to the blender and blend briefly until it is thoroughly mixed and slightly frothy.
If you don't have coconut milk powder and can't get to Scoop to pick some up, make the mix without it. Then add 1/4 cup of mix, 2 tablespoons cashews and 8 fluid ounces of hot water to a blender and blend until smooth. OR add 1/4 cup of the mix (without coconut milk powder) to 8 fluid ounces of hot milk of your choice.
I used this recipe to make Christmas gifts last year and it worked out perfectly!
